The Dollywood Foundation began this project in 1996. It has spread world wide.
In 2012, LCMC NY began bringing this award winning program to all children in Madison County and parts of Chenango County.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a unique early childhood literacy program that mails a brand new, age-appropriate book to enrolled children every month from birth until five years of age, creating a home library of up to 60 books and instilling a love of books and reading from the first months.
By reading regularly with children during their preschool years, they receive the biggest boost toward a successful future they will ever get.
To help every child be fully prepared for kindergarten, the books are a gift from our community to our children.
Our goal is to help every child to be fully prepared for kindergarten.
the DEAL with DOLLY is that the local community MUST raise a small amount to be MATCHED by the Dollywood Foundation.
The LCMC is helping each community raise the local “match” for the program.
Locally we raise $30.00per child per YEAR. The Dollywood foundation matches that five times. It is a wonderful bargain. Please help.
