There is a need ~ ~ Become a tutor in your community

Have you thought about becoming a tutor and helping someone obtain their high school equivalency? There are many in need of your help throughout Madison County. Please join us on Wednesday, September 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Gorman Community Center in Oneida to learn how the program works and enjoy a catered lunch from Napoleons! We are holding this training session for those of you who might be interested in becoming a tutor in Madison County. All tutoring takes place at local libraries throughout Madison County.  A commitment of 3 hours once a week at the library of your choosing is what it entails. Resources and continued training are provided, as is on-going support and assistance from a local literacy coordinator.  During the luncheon, you will be able to speak with current tutors and see what it is that keeps them giving back to their community through this wonderful program. Most of them say that they get as much or more from their volunteer tutoring as their client. Please contact me if you would like to join in this opportunity to learn, serve, and grow in your community. This tutor training/luncheon is for all libraries throughout Madison County. You will tutor at the library that you choose. Contact: Tara Truett ttruett@midyork.org or 315-345-1468.  (Please RSVP by 9/25 for a count for the luncheon.
